How to join the Knocklyon School of Music and Concert BandsNew members are acceptd for available places (usually limited) in September-October each year, and young beginners are expected to have some musical proficiency on the recorder if possible. We occasionally accept applicants who are already playing other non-Concert Band instruments however this it at our discretion.

We strongly recommend if you are considering applying for a place, that you do so between the age of 9 and 11 years of age. We also strongly recommend attending the fantastic recorder classes taught by our colleague Mr. Joe Johnson. 70% of our successful musicians have studied with Mr. Johnson and this should speak for itself.

Applications from mature students are accepted for available places in our Adult Education programme each September-October, enrolment can be through the Adult Education Programme of St. Colmcille's Community School or directly to ourselves.

Further details and application forms can be sought by calling in to us on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday evenings.

You can also download a copy of our Application Form from here.

Child Protection Policy StatementThe Knocklyon School of Music has a comprehensive Child Protection Policy Statement and a Child Protection Officer.
